Varsity Boys Football · Varsity Football Stands at 6-0, Showdown with Northmont is Next

The varsity football team was able to remain undefeated by defeating Fairmont on Friday with a hard-fought 35-21 victory.  The win caps off a very tough week for the Elks and we are very proud of all of our players, coaches, trainers, and cheerleaders.

The Elks were led offensively by Junior Damian Popp who had 183 yards on 19 carries and two touchdowns.  Junior quarterback Will Vance added two more scores and senior Nick Bozzo completed the scoring with one touchdown.  The defense was lead by junior Blake Zeller with 10 tackles and a fumble recovery.  Senior Cameron Langer had 8 tackles.

The Elks travel to Northmont on Friday October 11th with first place at stake in the GWOC Central.  Kick-off is at 7:00 PM.  Centerville and Northmont have partnered to raise money for the Coleman4acure program, a non-profit breast cancer organization that is sponsored by Northmont grad and NFL player Kurt Coleman.  We are selling raffle tickets for $5 each or 5 tickets for $20.  These tickets will give you a chance to win one of two autographed helmets from Kurt Coleman or AJ Hawk.  Tickets are available in the Athletic Office.
