Varsity Girls Lacrosse · Girls Lacrosse Gearing Up for Season

The Lady Elks Lacrosse teams kicked off preseason with a 2 game sweep of the Lady Warriors from Lebanon.

The JV girls went into half behind the Warriors by a score of 5-3, but emerged victorious by the end of the game holding Lebanon to only one point in the second half while scoring 6 to edge out Lebanon 9-6. Elyssa Zimmerman, Abby Lokai, and Roshni Venkatesh all had 1 goal each while Emma Hoying and Samantha Briggs each scored 2 goals. Mallory Coolidge and Samantha Briggs also contributed 1 assist for a goal each. Soph.Goalkeeper Becca Brouse handled the cage with 8 saves on 14 shots on goal for a 57% save rate.

The Varsity squad went into the half up by 3 at 8-5. The Lady Elks held onto their lead until the final buzzer to beat Lebanon 11-8 at Magsig Stadium. Senior Christine Salzman and  Jr.Emily Dorko led the way with 3 goals each. Seniors Rachel Patton and Abby Roesch followed up with 2 goals apiece and  Soph. Brooke Flory scored 1 goal. Seniors Ali Forster, Tori Lentz, and Christine Salzman all contributed to additional goals with one assist each. Senior Goal Keeper Samantha Dinkledine took 13 shots on goal and saved 7 for a 54% save rate.

Both teams will host Springboro tonight at Magsig Stadium. JV will play at 6:00 pm and Varsity plays at 7:30 pm. There is no entrance cost for this scrimmage.
