Elks News · Boys Basketball Trounces Troy in Tournament Opener

Senior Kyle Dodson gave the Elks a quick 7-0 lead less than a minute into their tourney opener which forced Troy to call a timeout. The Elks continued to pour it on after the timeout and cruised to an 80-38 win at Trotwood HS on Saturday evening. The Elks led 23-7 after the first quarter when Senior Joey Weingartner nailed a 40-footer at the buzzer. They widened their lead to 44-13 at the half and 59-19 after three quarters.

Weingartner (20), Dodson (19) and sophomore Sam Lash (10) all reached double figures for the now 20-3 Elks who advance to the next round of the Sectional where they will face the West Carrollton Pirates at 6:00 on Wednesday night at Vandalia Butler High School. Presale tickets priced at $6.00 are available in the HS Athletic Office Monday-Wednesday from 7:30 AM-4:00 PM. CHS receives a bonus for all tickets purchased in advance. Tickets at the door the night of the game are $7.00 each and CHS does not receive any of that money.
