The varsity softball team hosted Seton High School on Thursday night for Cancer Awareness and MS Night. Prior to the game, the 2015 MS team was announced and joined the varsity on the field for the National Anthem. Current CHS Girls Bowling and former MS Softball Coach Lindsey Coulles, who is battling Thyroid Cancer, was introduced and honored before the game by throwing out the ceremonial first pitch.
The Elks then went to work and cruised to a 9-0 victory behind the 1-hit, shutout effort of junior pitcher Mollie Paulick.
Now 7-5 on the year, the team returns to action on Monday night when they host the Fairmont Firebirds at 5PM at CHS. The JV team was off last night, but travels to Colonial Park East for a doubleheader tomorrow against Lebanon at 10AM and 12PM. They then travel to Fairmont on Monday night at 5PM.
