For the fourth consecutive year, the Centerville Gymnastics team has qualified for the OHSAA State competition. The team placed 2nd out of 15 teams at the Southwest District Competition this past Saturday, as the top two teams advance to State. Junior Emma Kain had a season-high performance and took home the individual All-Around title. She also placed 1st on Beam, 2nd on Floor and 3rd on Bars. Gymnasts who place in the top 6 on any event, or in the All-Around, also have a chance to compete individually at State. Kain qualified individually to compete on three out of the four events and in the All-Around. Senior Erin Kafka qualified individually to compete on Vault and Beam. Kain, Kafka and Sophomore Sawyer Winfield made the All-District team, as each of them finished in the top 10 on at least one event. The State team competition will be Friday, March 4th and the individual competition will be Saturday, March 5th at Hilliard Bradley High School in Columbus. The District competition was hosted at Lakota East High School. Great job ladies!
