Varsity Boys Wrestling · Wrestling Places Second at GWOC; Charette, Wiechers Win Individual Titles

The varsity wrestling team competed at the 2017 GWOC Championships on Friday and Saturday.

In the team competition, the Elks finished second to Beavercreek by a score of 142.5-132.  Individually, the Elks had several outstanding showings as Mason Kuhr finished fifth, Alexander Taylor and Max Miller each finished 4th and Michael Markham finished third.  The best news of the tourney for the Elks came at the 152 and 220 pound weight classes.  In the 152 weight class, sophomore Drew Wiechers wrestled his way to a GWOC title while junior Jacob Charette did the same thing at 220.  Congratulations Drew and Jacob on these outstanding accomplishments.

The team is back in action on Thursday night as they travel to Bellefontaine High School for a tri-match.  Wrestling gets underway at 5:00 PM.
