Elks News · Varsity Boys Basketball Beats Piqua, Advances to Play Bellefontaine Tuesday

The varsity boys basketball started their 2017 tournament run at Butler on Friday night trying to beat a pesky Piqua squad. The Elks were down 4-2 after the 1st period of play. The Elks then woke up and lead 20-11 at the half. The second half saw the Elks build a 33-22 lead heading into the 4th quarter and Piqua ran of the 5 points of the quarter to cut the lead to 33-27 before the Elks took control for good and finished off the Indians 44-29.

Seniors Keegan Saben and Sam Lash each had 11 points to lead the Elks who are now 15-8 overall. The Elks advance to play Bellefontaine at Butler on Tuesday at 7:30 in what should be fantastic ball game. Tickets are for sale in the Athletic Department Monday and Tuesday from 7:30-4:30, $6.00 each.
