The varsity softball team traveled to Huber Heights last night to open up GWOC NL East play against the host Wayne Warriors. The teams were locked in a close, 4-2, game before Wayne exploded in the bottom of the fifth to score eight times and end the game in a 12-2 run-rule decision. The JV team beat Wayne here at CHS, 9-7, in a game that was called after five innings due to the deteriorating field conditions due to the rain.
Now 1-6 overall and 0-1 in the NL East on the year, the Elks are right back in action tonight as they host Wayne here at CHS while the JV team travels to Wayne. The first pitch in each game is scheduled to be thrown at 5:00 PM.
