The varsity boys lacrosse team returned to Alumni Stadium from a brief respite over Spring Break as they hosted the Olentangy Orange Pioneers on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. The Elks jumped out in front early and held a three or four goal lead most of the game. The Pioneers rallied in the fourth quarter and scored the game tying goal with just six seconds left to send the game to overtime tied, 10-10. In the extra session, the Elks responded to the adversity and scored the game winner to escape with a thrilling, 11-10 win.
In the first game of the afternoon, the JV team tied the Pioneers, 7-7.
Now 3-3 on the year, the boys are right back in action tomorrow night when they welcome the Loveland Tigers to Alumni Stadium. The JV game gets underway at 5:30 PM and will be followed by the varsity at approximately 7:15.
