The varsity softball team hosted the Wayne Warriors last night in a game which had been rescheduled due to weather. The two teams found themselves in a tight race with Fairmont for the NL East championship heading into last night’s game and in a tight game throughout. The game was tied 3-3 in the bottom of the seventh when sophomore Anna Samborsky singled to score Taylor White with the winning run. The 4-3 victory puts the Lady Elks in sole possession of first place in the NL East with three games to go. The JV team fell at Mason last night in a five-inning game, 10-0.
The girls are back in action tonight when they travel to West Carrollton High School to take on the Pirates. Game time is set for 5:00 PM.
