The dynamic junior duo of Kayla Ramsey (left) and Marissa Wenzler (right) led the girls varsity gold golf team to the OHSAA Division I Sectional Championship yesterday at Yankee Trace. Marissa finished 1st overall with a 3-under par 69 and Kayla finished 2nd overall with a 2-under par 70. Their combined score of 139 coupled with freshman Meha Pandya’s 79 and senior Molly Jasina’s 84 gave the Lady Elks a team score of 302. The team who finished runner-up was 73 strokes back at 375 which just underscores how dominant this team was not only yesterday, but all season as well.
The competition now ramps up for the girls as they head to the District Championship next Tuesday at Beavercreek Golf Club. If they finish in the top four there, they will advance to the State Championship on Friday and Saturday, October 20 and 21, at The Ohio State University Golf Course in Columbus.
Tee time for the District Finals on Tuesday is set for 9:00 AM.
