The varsity volleyball team continues to bounce back quite nicely from their first loss of the season last Saturday. Last night, the girls traveled to Lebanon and beat a good Warriors team in straight sets. The Lady Elks came out of the gates on an absolute tear and breezed through the first set, 25-11. The Warriors bounced back from there and played the Elks extremely tough from that point forward, but were never able to break through in the win column, losing set two, 25-23 and set three, 28-26. In the first game of the night, the freshman team bat the Warriors, 2-0. That was followed by the JV who ensured a clean sweep for the night by winning their match, 2-1.
Now 18-1 on the year and 10-0 in the National League East, the girls return to action on Tuesday night when they host Springfield here at CHS. The Elks have already clinched at least a share of the Eastern Division title and can claim it outright with a win on Tuesday night. The JV and freshman teams start the night with games at 5:30 and the varsity will follow at approximately 6:45.
