Elks News · Wrestling Enjoys Banner Day at Harrison Duals

The varsity wrestling team made the long trip to Harrison High School on Saturday to wrestle in the highly competitive Harrison Duals on Saturday.  The duals featured teams from all over Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and Alabama to name a few.

In their first match of the day, the Elks faced off against Hewitt-Trussville from the Birmingham, Alabama area.   The Elks wrestled well and came away with a 43-22 win.  In their second match, the Elks faced off against nationally ranked Brownsburg from Indiana.  The result was not as favorable this time around as the Elks dropped a 61-9 decision.  In their third match, the Elks bounced back nicely and won a hard-fought dual with Vincent Warren High School from Southeast Ohio.  The Elks held on at the end to win, 43-36.  The fourth match of the day brought the Elks another out-of-state opponent.  This time around it was Franklin County High School out of Indiana.  The Elks continued their strong performance on the day with an impressive, 56-30 win.  In their fifth and final match of the day, the Elks once again faced an out-of-state opponent in East Central High School from Indiana.  The Elks finished a spectacular day on the mats by winning, 45-24 to finish 4-1.

The team returns to action on Thursday night this week when they host a tri-match with Harrison and Springboro.  Action gets underway at 5:30 PM at Centerville High School.
