The varsity baseball team hosted the Butler Aviators last night at Wright State in a game that was moved to Wednesday due to the weather earlier in the week. This was the Elks’ third trip to Wright State this spring and the first time they came away a winner with an impressive, 6-3 victory. Junior Connor Walch pitched 6 1/3 innings and struck out five while fellow junior Shea Hendrixson had a double and two R.B.I.’s. The JV team traveled to Butler High School where they dropped a close, 7-5 decision to the Aviators while the freshman team played Fairmont here at Booster Park and suffered their first loss of the year, 8-5.
Now 4-5 on the year and 2-2 in GWOC play, the Elks are back in action tomorrow night when they travel to Lebanon to take on the Warriors. The JV team hosts Lebanon here at the high school while the freshman team hosts Butler tonight and Lebanon tomorrow night at Schoolhouse Park. All four games are set to begin at 5:00 PM.
