The boys varsity gold tennis match at The Miami Valley School was forced indoors at South Regency due to the weather last night. The Rams came into the match as the second ranked team in the state in Division II so the Elks knew they would have their work cut out for them. It was a tremendously played match on both sides and one that went on for awhile. Unfortunately for the Elks, the Rams were able to escape with a 3-2 win. The JV black match here at home against MVS was cancelled and will not be rescheduled.
The varsity gold team now sets their sights on the OHSAA District tournament which will begin tomorrow morning at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, across the street from Kings Island. The Elks qualified Joshua Giambattista at singles and both doubles teams of Rishi Appalaneni and Will Owen and Ryan Murphy and Samith Venkatesh.
