Elks News · Girls Volleyball Wins Thriller At Creek To Win GWOC East Title

The varsity girls volleyball team has had quite a few matches where they have started out extremely strong and then struggled later in the match so they tried a new strategy on Wednesday at Beavercreek. The girls struggled the first two sets and lost 15-25 and 20-25 to put their fans in a panick mode. But in true Elk fashion these girls stepped up their game and won set three 25-17 and set four 25-18 to tie the match at 2-2 and send it to a fifth and deciding set five. The Lady Elks jumped out to an 8-1 lead and found themselves down 13-14 with Match point on the line. The girls ran off 3 straight points to pull out a dramatic 16-14 win over the Beavers and claim the outright GWOC East Title. The varsity is now 15-5 overall and finished 11-1 in the GWOC.

The JV team won 2-1 and the 9th team won 2-1.  Teams are back in action on Saturday October 13th Fenwick HS with 9th at 11 am, JV at noon and Varsity at 1 pm.
