For the second time in as many weeks, the varsity ice hockey team faced off with the St. Xavier Bombers, this time on the road in Cincinnati. Unlike the first time the two teams played in the season opener, a 5-4 win by the Bombers, the Elks were not at full strength as they are battling many early season injuries. That contributed to Friday night’s 9-1 defeat at Northland Ice Center.
On Sunday afternoon, the Elks returned home to face Pioneer High School from Ann Arbor, Michigan. For the second time over the weekend, the Elks were overwhelmed and dropped a 9-0 decision.
The Elks fell to 2-6 with the losses and return to action on Friday night when they travel to Findlay to take on the Trojans. Opening face off is set for 7:00 PM at The Cube.
