The varsity boys and girls bowling teams traveled to Poelking Woodman Lanes last night to take on the Fairmont Firebirds in an NL East showdown. Both teams entered the night with championship aspirations and knew that last night’s match would have a big impact on the divisional race over the next month.
In the boys match, the Elks struggled to pick up key spares and that wound up costing them as they fell to the host Firebirds, 2,575-2,481. Ian Dobran led the way with a 441 and Kyle Moyer added a 437 to lead the Elks. The JV boys defeated the Firebirds, 2,081-1,846.

The loss dropped the boys to 3-1 in NL East play and into third place behind second place Fairmont, who is now 4-1 and first place Beavercreek, who leads the way thus far at 5-0.
The win kept the girls unbeaten in NL East play at 4-0 and all alone in first place at this point in the season.
