The varsity hockey team is hosting their annual MLK Tourney this weekend at South Metro. Unfortunately, due to the weather forecast, two teams decided to withdraw from the tournament making it a four-team field.
In tonight’s first game, the Elks faced a familiar foe in the Elder Panthers. Much like the last time these two got together, the Elks jumped out to a big lead and cruised to an 8-1 win. Drew Schemmel scored twice and Riley Hrin and John Chamberlain had hat tricks for the Elks.
Now 11-11 overall and 5-4 in SWOHSHL play, the Elks have no time to rest. They play twice tomorrow with the first game getting underway at 8:30 AM against the Canton/Akron Jets and then again tomorrow night at 8:40 PM against the Northern Kentucky Norse.
