The hockey team battled Moeller Friday night in a well played game by both teams, but came up short on the scoreboard, 4-1. They were looking to rebound on Saturday night, but had a tough draw at Goggin Ice Arena against a very good Talawanda squad.
In a near repeat performance from seven days earlier, the Braves beat the Elks, 6-2. That left Sunday as the team’s final opportunity to grab a win this weekend. They would not let that opportunity slip away.
On Sunday morning, the team traveled to Sports Plus to take on the LaSalle Lancers. The Elks were looking to remain unbeaten against the Lancers this year and did just that with a convincing, 7-3, win.
Now 14-16 on the year overall and 7-6 in league play, the Elks earned the #3 seed in the upcoming conference tournament. They will get that underway with a home game Friday night at South Metro against Beavercreek. Opening face off is set for 6:30 PM.
