Varsity Boys Volleyball · Boys Volleyball Goes 1-2 at Oak Hills Quad

The boys varsity volleyball team traveled to Oak Hills High School this morning to compete in the Oak Hills Quad.  First up for the Elks were the host Highlanders.  The boys came out of the gates strong and rolled to a 25-14 win in the first set.  Sensing the opportunity to close it out in just two sets, the Elks did not let that opportunity get away and posted a 25-19 win to take the match, 2-0.  Next up for the Elks were the Rebels from Roncalli High School in Indianapolis.  Roncalli is a Catholic high school and the defending Indiana State Champions in boys volleyball.  Looking like a team ready to make a run at back-to-back state titles, the Rebels blitzed the Elks, 25-9 and 25-11.  The last opponent for the day was the Shamrocks from Trinity High School in Louisville, Kentucky.  Much like their match against Roncalli, the Elks struggled against the Shamrocks and fell, 25-15 and 25-18.

Now 4-9 on the year, the boys are back in action on Thursday when they travel to Clayton to take on the Northmont Thunderbolts.  The JV A game gets underway at 5:30 PM and will be followed by the varsity at approximately 6:45 PM.
