The boys varsity track team traveled to the famed Pit last night at Elder High School to tangle with the Panthers. The Elks came in red hot on a ten-game winning streak, but knew they were in for a big test with one of Cincinnati’s traditional powerhouses. In what turned out to be a low-scoring, defensive minded game, the Panthers came away with a 5-3 win which snapped the Elks 10-game winning streak. The JV team did not fare much better and dropped an 8-3 decision in the opener.
Now 11-2 on the year, the boys are back in action on Saturday and face another huge test when they travel to New Albany High School to take on a Columbus-area power. The varsity game begins at 1:00 PM and will be followed by the JV at 3:00 PM.
