The stretch of close games for the boys lacrosse team continued into this weekend as they traveled to Olentangy Orange High School. Following the long bus ride and the emotional defeat from the previous night at Lakota West, the Elks knew they would be in for a tough game and would have to overcome their tired legs and try to push through. As has been the case lately, the Elks found themselves in yet another nail biter and, as has been the trend lately, dropped another close game, 7-6.
While the varsity teams were busy with Olentangy Orange, the JV teams were on the other side of Columbus battling Upper Arlington. The Golden Bears were not interested in playing close games and attacked the Elks from start to finish in each game. In the first game, the Golden Bears JV B team defeated the Elks, 11-3. That was followed by the JV A game which was dominated by Upper Arlington, 16-0.
Now 11-5 on the year and losers of four straight by a total of 5 goals, the Elks are right back in action tonight when they welcome the Kings Knights to Alumni Stadium. The JV game gets underway at 5:30 and will be followed by the varsity at approximately 7:15.
