The varsity girls soccer team welcomed the Wayne Warriors to Alumni Stadium last night looking for their seventh straight win. The team celebrated Staff Appreciation Night and honored teachers and other school personnel who have made a positive impact on their lives. Following the ceremony with staff, the girls put on quite a show for their honored guests with a 9-0 win. Junior Leah Firsdon led the way with three goals and fellow junior Mia Moore added two. Scoring individual goals for the Elks were junior Braelen Devoe and seniors Kara Allen, Lauren Bastian and Sydney White.
In the first game of the night, the JV A team beat the Warriors by the same, 9-0, score.
Now 9-2-1 on the year and 5-1 in conference play, the girls are back in action on Saturday when they travel to Mount Notre Dame for a tripleheader against the Cougars. The JV B game gets underway at 1:00, JV A at 3:00 and varsity at 5:00.
