Varsity/Reserve Boys Cross Country · Boys Cross Country Finishes Fifth at District, Eleventh at Regionals

The varsity boys cross country team traveled to Cedarville University last Saturday to compete in the OHSAA District championship.  The young Elks were looking for a spot in the Regionals and knew they would have to run well to get it and did just that.

Led by junior Justin Davidson, who finished 28th overall, the Elks earned a team score of 182 which placed them fifth overall and earned them one of the coveted berths in the Regional meet.  Joining Justin in the team scoring were sophomore Jacob Spaulding, who finished 32nd, junior Ethan Zeiser, who was 38th, senior Isaac Einstein, who was 39th and sophomore Tyler Job, who was 45th.  Senior Kyle Bucklew was 46th and junior Russel Emmert was 53rd which allowed the Elks to place all seven runners in the top 53 finishers of the meet featuring 184 runners.

This past Saturday, the boys headed to Troy Memorial Stadium to compete in the Regional meet.  They were hoping to earn a berth in the state meet and ran well, but the competition was too stiff and the boys saw their season come to an end with an 11th place finish.  Led by junior Aidan Downs, who finished 33rd overall (29th for team scoring), the boys finished with a team score of 276.  Joining Aidan in the team scoring were junior Justin Davidson, who was 59th overall (52nd in team scoring), senior Isaac Einstein, 63rd overall (56th), junior Parker Blosser, 81st overall (69th) and sophomore Jacob Spaulding, 82nd overall (70th).  Sophomore Tyler Job, 87th overall (75th) and junior Ethan Zeiser, 118th overall, also ran for the Elks on Saturday.

Congratulations to all of the runners and coaches on a fantastic season.  A special thank you to the seniors for their four years of hard work, dedication and commitment to the program.  You will be missed!
