Elks News · Boys Soccer Knocks Off Springboro

Centerville Boys Varsity Soccer tamed the Springboro Panthers on Thursday night. The scoring started off with a Drew Boettcher corner kick to Nate Gottron who placed a header into the side netting. Rohan Dhingra would add a goal from the 20 yard line to end the first half 2-0.  Tatum Earley would score in the second half with a rocket from the 30 yard line. Springboro would score 2 in the second half, but it wouldn’t be enough.  Elks win with a final score of 3-2. Elks are now 5-0-1 in the GWOC and currently ranked 4th in the State poll. 


While JVA Boys Soccer hosted Springboro in a battle of the two undefeated GWOC teams.  Even though the Elks dominated possession in the first half the game remained scoreless. In the second half the Elks came out strong and capitalized on a goal by Mason Dull assisted by Trevor Eads to go up 1-0 with 21:00 remaining in the game. The Elks played tough the rest of the game to remain undefeated in the GWOC. Keepers Luke Voss and Max Green combined for the shutout. 


Next Tuesday Varsity and JVA host the Wayne Warrior at 5:30 & 7:15 to continue their undefeated seasons.
