There was a lot of concern and rightly so when the GWOC made the decision to stay in the GWOC Bubble this fall season there was concern that our girls team would not achieve to their ability level due to the fact that they would not be able to play in highly competitive tournaments throughout the season. I am very happy that our girls took that concern and knocked it out of the park as they shot a school record 310 at Glenview Golf Course on Tuesday to win the District Title and advance to the State Tourney!
This is the Lady Elks 5th District/Regional Title in the last 6 years. The team will be heading to State for the 6th year in a row. Congrats to Mason and Sycamore who also qualified for State.
Scoring for the Elks were: Morgan Rodgers 74, Meha Pandya 76, Jenna Hayes 78, Kate Dickerson 82, Amelia Burger 82.
Senior Meha Pandya will now join former Lady Elk Golfers Marissa Wenzler and Kayla Ramsey as the only golfers in our program to play in the State Tournament all 4 years! Congrats Meha!
Congrats to Sophomore Morgan Rodgers who shot a 74 – the 2nd lowest score at districts by a Lady Elk Golfer. Morgan shot a 75 last year and won. In her first 2 years in the program she now has 2 of the 4 lowest scores for our program at the event!
The team will play in the State Tournament beginning Friday October 23rd and finishing Saturday October 24th. State Championship will be at The Ohio State University Gray Course. A 36-hole tournament for all the marbles!
