Elks News · Boys Soccer Wins In Dramatic Fashion, Moves Onto Regional Finals

Boys Varsity Soccer took the pitch Wednesday night against Mason looking to advance to the regional finals. The Comets came out strong early in the game but Luke Shrivers played solid in goal to not allow any goals in the first half. The Elks had a few opportunities as well but couldn’t find the back of the net. Mason scored early in the second half to take the lead 1-0. The Elks responded with 12 minutes remaining in the game as Tatum Earley tied it up. Both teams kept playing hard trying to create opportunities. With 0:58 seconds remaining in the game Kaden Combs found Nate Gottron for the winning goal. The Elks advance to the regional finals and will travel on Saturday to St. Xavier to take on the Bombers at 12pm. The Elks are now 17-1-2 on the season.
